The PARC Pirates participate in the Special Olympics Illinois Basketball Tournament

The PARC Pirates will be participating in the Special Olympics Illinois District E Basketball Tournament this Sunday, January 27, 2008.

Come cheer our PARC Pirates on as they take on IRVSA Pekin 2 at 8:30 a.m. and the HISRA Cubs at 11:45 a.m. at Pekin Community High School located at 1903 Court Street in Pekin, IL 61554. The games will be played at the Hawkins and Custer/Stoudt Gymnasiums.

Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and competition will start at 8:30 a.m. Opening Ceremonies will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Additional information, including maps, is available for download at the District Basketball page.

Participating in Special Olympics allows individuals with developmental disabilities to develop key skills necessary to improve their health and fitness and gives the athletes a greater self-confidence and a more positive self-image.
