Bergner's is Making a Difference in our Community
PARC is happy to announce that we received a check for $350.45 from The Bon-Ton Stores Inc., Bergner's Grand Prairie parent corporation, as part of the November 10, 2007 Bergner’s Community Day fund-raising event. This money was donated by Bergner’s Grand Prairie to PARC in addition to the funds PARC raised through selling the Bergner’s Community Day coupon booklets.
Bergner’s Community Day is a fund-raising event held in spring and fall for all 501(c)3 not-for-profit and school organizations. The event is designed to provide local not-for-profit organizations with a fun way to raise money. The spring Community Day event is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2008.
PARC volunteers like Morgan Kolettis and Jason McCaleb manned a table at the Bergner’s Grand Prairie store entrance on several selling dates and sold the Bergner’s Community Day Booklets throughout the weeks leading up to the November 10, 2007 Bergner’s Community Day event. The booklets sold for $5.00 each with 100% of the proceeds going to PARC.
PARC received the matching funds check from The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. because our sales of booklets were in the top 25% of qualifying agencies. Because we reached this goal, we were invited to return to Bergner’s Grand Prairie on November 10, 2007 to sell additional booklets day off the Community Day promotion. The $350.45 check represents an equal share from the booklets that Bergner’s associates sold in stores.
PARC is participating in Bergner’s Community Days March 1, 2008 fund-raising event. PARC will be selling the Coupon Booklets on the following in-store selling dates: Saturday, February 23, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, February 24, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 4 – 6 p.m.; Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 10 a.m. to Noon; and Friday, February 29, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. You can also purchase the booklets directly from PARC by contacting Sibylle LaHood at (309) 689-3608.
PARC is grateful to have a partner like Bergner’s Grand Prairie that is committed to making a positive difference in our community and to supporting PARC’s mission to provide choices for a quality life to individuals with developmental disabilities.
