2007 PARC Annual Awards Banquet

On June 7, 2007, PARC (Peoria Association for Retarded Citizens, Inc.) held its 50th Annual Awards Banquet. The celebration gave PARC an opportunity to recognize and honor the many members of the community whose dedication and hard work enable us to offer choices for a quality life to individuals with developmental disabilities.
The keynote speaker was Metamora-based professional artist and art educator Greg DePauw. Mr. DePauw's works have been exhibited throughout the United States, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 2002, Mr. DePauw was recognized on the national level as the first recipient of the prestigious "Chronicles of Courage Artisitic Award," by VSA Arts and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. This award is presented each year to an artist with a disabiltiy who has made a significant impact on his or her local community. His interactive presentation entitled "Everyone Can Draw" did just that, engaged everyone in attendance to draw!
Elaine Manley Received PARC's President's Award, recognizing her extraordinary advocacy and support on behalf of individuals with developmental disabilities.
The Business Partner of the Year Award went to The City of Peoria, Department of Public Works.
Employer of the Year Award went to Scrip, Inc.
The Order of Alhambra, Ziryab Caravan #52 received the Friend of PARC Award.
Joyce Stahl received the Advocacy Award.
Shirley Autzen received the Individual Volunteer of the Year Award.
The Master Gardeners of Peoria received the Organization Volunteer of the Year Award.
Infinity Print Group was recognized as Corporate Sponsor of the Year.
Mari Halliday received the Individual PARC Partner of the Year Award.
Connie Sawatzki Received the Roger Harkin Award.
Wayne Stogsdill was name Employee of the Year for his hard work and dedication to PARC.
