8th Annual Special People Cruise
PARC participants will attend the 8th Annual SPECIAL PEOPLE CRUISE on Saturday, June 7, 2008 as part of PARC Family Support Services program.
The event is open to all physically or mentally disabled people, their families, caregivers and counselors. The days activities include a river cruise, games, clowns and lunch and are provided free of charge compliments of the Starved Rock Yacht Club and its many sponsors.
Call for volunteers! PARC is looking for volunteers to go with our group on the day trip to Ottawa to participate in the SPECIAL PEOPLE CRUISE. Volunteers are needed to push wheelchairs, take pictures, and assist participants with event activities. If you are interest in volunteering, please contact Sibylle LaHood at (309) 689-3608.
Last year over twenty boats from the Starved Rock Yacht Club and other neighboring marinas and boat clubs took participants on a memorable cruise on the beautiful Illinois River. Participants also spent the day playing games, winning prizes and enjoying their hot dog lunch.
The Starved Rock Yacht Club is located on Dee Bennett Road, immediately west of Buffalo Rock State Park, which is west of Ottawa, Illinois. For more information on this event visit http://www.starvedrockyachtclub.org/spc.htm or contact Captain Ron Musial at (847) 312-6172.
