Peoria County Master Gardeners Cleanup
Despite two reschedules due to rain, the PARC Enabling Garden cleanup project was a big success. Peoria County Master Gardeners, joined by Tazewell County Master Gardeners, PARC staff, PARC volunteers and a member of the Central Illinois Hosta Society joined forces on Thursday April 17, 2008 to spruce up PARC's enabling garden and allow it to grow and flourish.
Volunteers cut back tall grasses and perennials, cleared and cleaned flower beds, pruned trees, spread deer repellent, planted flowers, set up patio furniture, put out lawn ornaments and installed raised beds.
Special thanks to Master Gardener Angela Zimmerman for organizing this event, Sheri Schorr for bring a truck and cart, Sharon Mercer for helping move raised bed boxes, Carol Ogle for donating pansy plants, Dottie Shelton for cutting tall grasses and spreading deer repellent, and Kandy Bernal for donating deer repellent.
