PARC Athletes are Good as Gold
On May 10, 2008 PARC athletes brought home the gold...and lots of it. Nine PARC athletes participated in the Special Olympics Illinois Area 6 Spring Games. Six of our athletes got gold medals, bringing in a total of 8 gold medals.
The event was held in Bloomington at Illinois Wesleyan University track. PARC athletes competed in track and field events alongside approximatley 250 Special Olympics athletes from the Heartland area. PARC athletes competed in walking & wheelchair races and tennis and softball throwing events.

All the PARC athletes who received a gold medal at Spring Games will advance to the Special Olympics Illinois State Summer Games which will be held June 13-15 in Normal, Illinois at Illinois State University.
