Wal-Mart Gets in Gear for PARC!
PARC and Wal-Mart partner to make the 2007 PARC ‘N’ Play Super Cruise-In a winning event!
The 2007 PARC ‘N’ PLAY Super Cruise-In was held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Allen Road. The event was held to provide activities funding for PARC programs. Activities for the day included games, face painting, live entertainment, raffles, door prizes and a cruise-in of vintage cars.
Wal-Mart Supercenter on Allen Road in Peoria and the Midwest Car Cruisers Club were cosponsors of the event. Support sponsors included All About Gutters Inc., AmericInn of Peoria, Bob Lindsay Honda, Burnzees Bar & Grill, Cici's Pizza, Communications Systems & Services Inc., Grayboy Inc., Green Chevrolet Peoria Inc., John Anderson Auto Care, Neal Auto Parts Inc. Rosewood Lanes, Sam Leman's of Morton, T & D Windshield Repair Inc., Town & Country Bowl, TRAC All Tune & Lube Inc., Velde Ford Sales Inc., and Ziebart Rust Proofing & Tidy Car Inc.
In addition to the check donation, Wal-Mart volunteer donated their time and energy to paint classrooms at PARC’s Townline facility as part of the Heart of Illinois United Way Day of Caring.The Day of Caring, held on September 7, 2007 brings together volunteers from area businesses to perform a variety of tasks for HOIUW member agencies in need of assistance. This event is one of many presented by the HOIUW to promote volunteerism within our community.
The employees of the Wal-Mart Supercenter are great neighbors to have and show continued support for PARC and our mission to provide choices for a quality life to individuals with developmental disabilities.
